CAT Tool Plot and Update: Dollar Weighted OBV for ES

Here’s a plot of part of the day’s Dollar Weighted On Balance Volume superimposed over the price of the S&P E-mini (ES) futures. It only covers the part of the time my laptop was connected to the intertubes today, but I thought it was interesting. The Pink is the ES, the Blue is the DWOBV. There was a divergence around 10:30 AM that was followed by a big drop:

Also, I updated the dollar weighted CAT tool to record and plot the ES price (or whatever you put in your list as the first symbol), as well as added a capability to add a start time. That way you can click “Start” and it will wait to record until the time hits, or leave it blank and it will just start immediately. The update is in the “CAT_TOS_DDE_Recorder.zip” file in “Released Tools“. In the future I plan to do a bit of a re-do of the tool to make it more generic, so keep your eyes peeled for that.

    HI.

    nice site, i’ve been coming here from time to time to update… thanks!

    I have a short question about scripting in TOS. I would like to take the Averege crossover that TOS developed and add to it an option to color the bars (chandels) in correlation to the arrows. the upside is that i already have the crossover script (from TOS) but i have no idea how to color the chart. is it complecated? (i dont have programing background). can you help? 🙂 thanks.

    That’s easy. There’s one line of code you need that calls assignpricecolor(). Post your code over in the RTP forum and I’ll add the code line for you.

    Hi there,
    Great site! I have a question thats been really bugging me for a while now. It’s best explained by example:
    Say I want to grab the last price of google.
    So I put “GOOG” in cell A1 and in cell A2 i put “=TOS|LAST!A1”
    I know this doesn’t work but I think it conveys what I’m trying to accomplish. Any ideas how to work around this?

    You can’t do that with cell references and DDE. You have to use a macro. I have one on my google site that’s free to use. Look for the DDE template file out there.
